Located in the south east corner of Southampton Common, The Hawthorns Urban Wildlife Centre provides information about Southampton's abundant wildlife and how we manage the city's open spaces to protect and increase biodiversity.

Due to the grounds being a sensitive wildlife environment, representing most of the city’s habitats.  We open the grounds every Sunday between 10am – 3pm and  Wednesdays during school holidays 10am-3pm.   Free, informative and fun nature trails for all ages to enjoy are put on over every school holiday. Please note over Christmas there will be less opening of the grounds, please contact us first if you are planning on visiting so as to avoid disappointment.

Aspects of the grounds can be viewed from the café terrace.
