Fireworks Displays in Southampton

Southampton's big fireworks night is on Saturday 7 November 2026 at Mayflower Park. Gates open at 4pm, the fireworks go up between 7pm and 7.30pm, and tickets must be bought in advance from about £10 for adults and £7 for children. Under-4s go free. There's a funfair, street food, a DJ stage and a lot of very excited people in bobble hats.

Can't make Saturday, or tickets gone? We've rounded up four more displays around Southampton this week, from a cricket ground to a torchlit march through Winchester. Wellies on. Let's go.

Fireworks Displays in Southampton 2026

Quick picks

  • Biggest night out: Southampton Fireworks at Mayflower Park, Sat 7 November

  • Best with on-site parking: Utilita Bowl Fireworks Spectacular, Fri 6 November

  • Best for a bit of tradition: Winchester's torchlit procession and bonfire, Sat 7 November

The main event

Southampton Fireworks 2026: The POP Explosion, Mayflower Park

Fireworks over the water, a funfair and Disney singalongs. It's the city's biggest bang, and it raises money for local charities too.

  • When: Saturday 7 November 2026. Gates open 4pm and close 7pm (aim to arrive before 6pm). Fireworks between 7pm and 7.30pm, depending on the shipping schedule (it's a working port, after all). Event closes 10pm.

  • Price: Adults from £10, children from £7, under-4s free. Prices vary by ticket release, so check the booking page.

  • Ages: All ages welcome. Children (roughly 4 to 16) must come in with an adult aged 18 or over. Child-only ticket holders won't be let in.

  • Book: Book on Fixr. No tickets on the gate, and tickets can't be resold. Check whether under-4s need a free ticket when you book.

  • Good to know:

  • There are three gates (A, B and C). Use the one on your ticket.

  • Host Zoe Hanson is on stage from 4pm with local musicians, singalongs and children's entertainment, plus a DJ stage, funfair, street food and bars.

  • Bring some cash. Card machines at the funfair can be slow, though some food traders are card only.

  • No parking on site. City centre car parks fill fast, so take the bus or train if you can. Cars on double yellows or the central reservation will be towed.

  • Wheelchair users should book Gate B or C, which give road access right down to the waterfront. The grass can get soft and muddy, so think about the buggy.

  • Not allowed: alcohol, sparklers, fireworks, dogs and other pets, drones.

  • Lost a small person? Look for the stewards in hi-vis jackets.

  • Organised by Southampton Round Table No. 4, raising money for local charities.

Other displays nearby

Utilita Bowl Fireworks Spectacular, West End

The one where you can actually book a parking space. Funfair rides first, then fireworks over the cricket ground.

  • When: Friday 6 November 2026. Gates 5.30pm to 7pm, fireworks about 7.30pm.

  • Price: Advance tickets from £13. Under-5s free.

  • Ages: All ages.

  • Book: Utilita Bowl fireworks page (on-site parking is sold separately and limited).

  • Good to know: Unreserved seats or standing on the pitch. Hot food, hot drinks and sweet treats on sale. Wheelchair-accessible seating and buggy parks. Loud bangs and flashing lights, naturally.

Winchester Bonfire & Fireworks, North Walls Recreation Ground

A torchlit procession up the High Street, a proper bonfire and then the fireworks. Same night as Mayflower Park, so it's your plan B if Southampton sells out.

  • When: Saturday 7 November 2026. Arena opens 4.30pm, procession leaves the Guildhall on The Broadway at 6pm, bonfire lit 7.15pm, fireworks 7.45pm (timings approximate).

  • Price: Standard wristband £10 in advance (1 to 6 November) or £12 on the day. Joining the procession is free.

  • Ages: All ages. Every child needs a wristband, including those in pushchairs. Babies carried in arms don't.

  • Book: Winchester Bonfire tickets

  • Good to know: Roads close and traffic gets busy, so park further out and walk in. Food and drink on site from 4.30pm.

Fireworks Night at Ampfield Golf & Country Club, near Romsey

Smaller, calmer and a decent shout for little ones who aren't sure about big crowds.

  • When: Friday 6 November 2026. Outdoor kitchen and bar open from 5pm, fireworks 7.30pm.

  • Price: Adults £12, under-12s £6, family (2 adults and 2 children) £30.

  • Ages: All ages, open to members and the public.

  • Book: At the clubhouse or through the Ampfield Golf fireworks page.

  • Good to know: Parking is limited, so car share if you can.

Portsmouth Fireworks, Southsea Common

A midweek seaside display, worth the drive if you'd rather not wait for the weekend.

  • When: Wednesday 4 November 2026. Site opens 4pm, fireworks 7pm, finishes 8pm.

  • Price: Not stated on the official listing, so check before you go.

  • Ages: All ages.

  • Book: See Visit Portsmouth for the latest.

  • Good to know: Funfair, stalls, hot food, toilets and first aid. There's a welfare tent with a lost child point, ear defenders and quiet seating. It won't go ahead if weather warnings are in place. Expect big crowds, so leave extra time.

Tips for fireworks night with kids

  • Ear defenders. Pop them in the bag for babies and noise-sensitive kids. The bangs are big.

  • Dress for mud. Wellies, waterproofs and an extra layer. Parks get squelchy once a few thousand people have walked on them.

  • Agree a meeting point. Pick a landmark when you arrive and write your phone number on a wristband or sticker for younger ones.

  • Leave the sparklers at home. They're banned at Mayflower Park and most organised displays.

  • Snacks and cash. Queues for food get long before the show. A flask of hot chocolate buys you a lot of goodwill.

  • Getting out takes ages. Hang back ten minutes after the finale and let the rush clear.
